This was a nice lunch break in our travels. A mom & pop diner that serves a good cheeseburger. My sweetie made the comment that the burger was made for somebody that has a job! He was very full but happy after the meal. The owner said the people from neighboring areas are regular customers and that is how they are able to stay open even though they are in a small village. She gave us a big bag of carrots so carrot cake is in our near future. She says RVs are more than welcome to park at the truck parking lot next door (they own it also). If we come this way again, we will take a break here!
We were driving thru and made a pit stop here. Best cinnamon roll ever! If you are driving by definitely make a stop and grab a bite to eat.
Being from Louisiana their seafood platter looked different but was really good. The homemade mashed potatoes were awesome. Loved to see everyone talking to everyone as they came in. Real country feeling.
Overall, it was a great first visit. Service by Chloe was quick and friendly. Coffee was fresh and hot. My ham steak was cooked perfectly, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their entrees (sausage omelet and eggs benedict). A classic, delicious comfort food, small town cafe.
It's great small-town country diner fare! The service is the key! Also - the homemade syrup!
Food was phenomenal service was great I’m going back for breakfast and my lord those cinnamon rolls are delectable
We stopped in for lunch today on the way to golf at Ballyneal in Holyoke, and I am so glad we did! The population of Haigler is posted as 158, so you know a restaurant is good to have this many visitors. If this cafe were in Chicago, it would be booked out months in advance. The double cheese burger is amazing, and their bacon is as good as bacon gets. Barb was a wonderful host and would thrive as a one armed paper hanger. Well worth a detour.
Stopped in with a friend for lunch on our way back from Colorado. Great food and friendly service. Don’t forget to visit the town “jail” next to the cafe. I will stop every time I am through here.
